Terms of Service
Effective May 9, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of OnPoint Technologies’ website, dashboard, and Passport OCR API (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or sending a request to the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the entity you represent.
1. The service
OnPoint provides an API that extracts structured data from passport images. The Service is sold on a prepaid credit basis. One credit is consumed for each successful extraction; failed extractions are not charged.
2. Account
- You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to bind any entity you act for.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and API keys confidential. Treat keys as production secrets.
- You must notify us promptly at onpoint.tech@outlook.com of any suspected unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Process documents you are not legally authorized to process under applicable identity, KYC, or data-protection law.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or compete with the Service’s underlying models.
- Circumvent rate limits, credit accounting, or billing controls.
- Submit content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes the rights of others.
- Resell or redistribute the raw API to third parties without a written agreement with OnPoint.
4. Credits and billing
- Credits are purchased through Stripe Checkout. Prices are listed in USD on the pricing page.
- Credits do not expire. Successful extractions deduct one credit. Refunds are processed automatically when an extraction fails after credits have been deducted.
- Invoices are available on the dashboard. Disputes must be raised within 30 days of the charge.
- Credits are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. Refunds for unused credits within the first 14 days of purchase are available on request at onpoint.tech@outlook.com.
5. Service level
We target 99.9% monthly availability for the production API and a median end-to-end extraction latency under 30 seconds. Custom SLAs are available on the Enterprise plan.
6. Data
Customer data submitted to the extraction API is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. In particular, passport images and the data extracted from them are processed in memory and discarded on response — they are not retained.
7. Intellectual property
OnPoint owns the Service, its models, and all associated software and documentation. You retain ownership of the customer data you submit. You grant OnPoint a limited, non-exclusive license to process that data solely to provide the Service.
8. Disclaimer
The Service is provided as is. While we hold our accuracy to a high bar (99.8% field accuracy on the OnPoint benchmark), OCR is probabilistic. You are responsible for any downstream decisions you make based on extraction results, including identity verification.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OnPoint’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid OnPoint in the 12 months preceding the claim. OnPoint is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks the stability or security of the platform. On termination, unused credits older than 14 days are forfeited.
11. Changes
Material changes to these Terms are notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of London have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes that cannot be resolved by negotiation.
